Neurology and Clinical Reasoning

A two-day in-person workshop on the neurology and biology of chronic complex pain and a structured approach to clinical reasoning. It covers evolutionary and biological context, nervous-system mechanisms, and systems concepts for complex pain patterns. Touch is limited to patient self-touch and brief instructor scratch or rub at visceral referred-pain sites for illustration. It does not teach manual therapy, massage, or soft-tissue technique, and it does not promise a cure.

What You Will Learn

  1. Explain neural and biological mechanisms of chronic complex pain.
  2. Relate evolutionary and systems ideas to why tissue-injury models are often not enough.
  3. Describe the educational use and limits of self-touch and instructor scratch or rub.
  4. Identify red flags and when to refer.
  5. Communicate pain concepts without a diagnosis claim or a promise of cure.

Pain & Performance Solutions

Julian brings a multidisciplinary approach to pain resolution, drawing on evolutionary biology, neuroscience, and information theory to develop practical frameworks for practitioners. His work focuses on engaging primitive neural circuits to address complex and chronic pain conditions that resist conventional treatment.
